Extrusion Equipment Dedicated
to satisfying the needs of its customers, Southtech employs highly trained professionals
to continually guarantee high
quality products. Southtech uses
state of the art equipment to produce
plastic sheets in various lengths, widths, and gauge thicknesses. Southtech
uses coextrusion, vented extruders, melt pumps for maintaining even flow characteristics, dual manifold die, and a "up" stack roll configuration. The "up" stack roll
configuration aids in obtaining a better surface quality on the extruded plastic. In addition, the smooth or embossed surface side is up and will not be scratched
as the sheet is pulled across the take-off and toward the shear. An "up" stack
configuration
also works better for heavy-gauge sheet because the sheet can "fall" down to the
pull rolls rather than being pulled up.
Southtech can extrude sheets from .015" to .300" with a .003" plus/minus variability.

Extruded Sheet Colors
Southtech can extrude
custom colored, white, and black sheets in low minimum order quantities. The extrusion
department has the capability to match colors with customer product requests. Automatic
blenders properly match the percentages of color and resin products to produce the
desired extruded plastic sheets or roll stock.
Extruded Sheet Sizing
Southtech can extrude sheets that are a maximum 60" in width and can be upto 120"
in length. All other sheet variations within the width, length, and gauge
limits are possible.
Roll Stock
Our roll stock can be extruded in .015" - .060" gauge thickness. The standard
roll length is 1000' and is wound on a 6" cardboard core.
Southtech can also laminate this roll stock with our many decorative patterns.
